The Playhouse Theatre will be specially transformed into an immersive space for this ‘shiveringly intimate chamber musical about family’.

Come for the Relationships!

Old traditions and young love collide in this joyous and timely celebration of life. Tevye’s daughters’ unexpected choice of husbands opens his heart to new possibilities, as his close-knit community also feel winds of change blowing through their tiny village.

Come for the award-winning and culture-defining music!

Featuring the iconic score including ‘Tradition’, ‘Matchmaker, Matchmaker’, ‘Sunrise, Sunset’ and ‘If I Were a Rich Man’, and featuring original choreography from Tony award-winning Jerome Robbins alongside new choreography by Matt Cole, Fiddler on the Roof ‘bursts from the stage’ (Financial Times), bringing new life to one of the most beloved musicals of all time.

Come for the environment!

Welcome to the environmental Fiddler on the Roof! When you walk into the Playhouse Theatre, you are transported to Anatevka, 1904. You’ll see the villagers carrying on about their day before the show stars, you’ll experience the sites of the wooded schtetels and you’ll feel completely immersed in this stunning production set designed by Robert Jones and the detailed costumes by Jonathan Lipman.

Come see the cast bring the villagers of Anatevka to life!

There’s no doubt ‘the cast whirl and swirl, as they raise the rafters’ (Financial Times) and Andy Nyman (Ghost Stories, Death at a Funeral) gives us a ‘searingly real’ Tevye while Judy Kuhn (Tony-Award winner, Fun Home, Les Mis) as Golde. The performances from the daughters are ‘sensational’.

Come for the accolades!

Trevor Nunn’s production of Fiddler on the Roof is rooted into the reality of Anatevka, and invites audiences to join Tevye and his family on a journey through the modernization of a village and the emotional attachments of traditions. Nunn’s version has been called ‘extraordinarily emotional and powerful’ – ‘Nunn and his excellent cast mine the meaning from each word and every note’.

Come for the Tradition!

Fiddler on the Roof was the longest-running Broadway musical for ten years and is embedded into pop culture and represented on numerous tv and movies like Mrs. Doubtfire, Family Guy, the Simpsons, Big Bang Theory and so many more. At the time, not one every thought a show about a struggling Jewish community would become one of the world’s most beloved musicals. Its story touches on family, women’s empowerment, anti-semitism, refugee resettlement and most of all hope. It reminds us how far we’ve come, but how far we still have to go. This Fiddler is a ‘serious and sincere piece at heart’.
